From your first slide to Olympic Gold

Sliding Sports Australia has established pathways to explain how to transition from a Beginner Athlete to a Development Athlete to a Sub Elite Athlete all the way up to an Elite Level Athlete that competes at World Cup and World Championship level.

Starting ability is critical in both the sports of Skeleton and Bobsleigh. Athletes striving to be successful in our sports should have good sprinting ability. As a benchmark – for the 30m Male athletes should strive to be sub 4.00seconds and Female Athletes should strive to be sub 4.40seconds. Please refer to our Pathway and Minimum Standards below and our Selection Criteria page.

If you have questions or inquiries please contact the SSA at admin@slidingsports.org.au.
